Mount Sinai Cake

Make a Mount Sinai that's as delicious as it is beautiful! If you prefer individual cakes check out this article!


For this recipe you'll need:

  • 2 Boxes of White Cake Mix

  • 6 Egg Whites

  • Vegetable Oil

  • Water

  • White or Chocolate Frosting

  • Green Frosting

  • Colored Fondant

Directions:


Prepare 2 boxes of cake mix according to box instructions.


Pour batter into two 8 inch pans and the rest in a metal oven safe bowl (you can also just use three 8 inch pans if you don't have an oven safe bowl.)


Bake according to box instructions and let cool on cooling rack.


Once completely cool, Stack cake layers with frosting in between with the rounded layer on top (if you have one)


Chill cake in the freezer and then using a very sharp or serrated knife cut out a mountain shape starting from the top down.


Apply a crumb coat (apply frosting all over the cake to keep the crumbs in, and then scrape with a business card or cake scraper)


Chill again and then top the cake with green frosting. Press fondant flowers or other decorations in while the icing is soft.
